Mahaveer Tea Company was started in 1974 by Shri. Ratan Chand. A visionary with entrepreneur skill ventured into tea business along with his son Shri. Ashok Kumar.

Mahaveer Tea Company Began operating as a commission agent for tea and setup family's first exclusive tea store at a strategic location in Coimbatore in 1978. Successful growth in business year after year allowed the luxury of geographical expansion movement to Chennai in the year 1985.

Shri. Ashok Kumar was instrumental in opening the first exclusive tea store at Chennai in Mint Street, Sowcarpet in the year 1985. Promotion of tea by offering to general public made them popular in that locality packaging of tea in 250 grams and  500 grams was developed and fondness for Mahaveer Tea Company's products grew as best quality tea at affordable cost.

Mahaveer Tea Company was popularly known by their brand name "Richwell's" which converted the brand name to trade name in 1991.Over the last 5 decades Mahaveer Tea Company has steadily progressed with focus on quality and made its name as exclusive tea brands in entire South India.

Mahaveer Tea Company possess a fully integrated 22000 : 2015 ISO Certified unit located in chennai. The unit is fully automated and hygienically maintained one that handles in one roof the storage , blending and packaging of teas. The packaging unit comprises of machines with latest technology. The unit is operated by a team of dedicated workers and skilled professionals who ensure adherence to food safety and quality policies.
